Bart Picqueur

Bart Picqueur, Belgian composer and conductor of band music got his professional training at the Royal Conservatory of Music, Ghent where he obtained master degrees in music theory, conducting and clarinet as well as a pedagogical diploma. Among his teachers: Dirk Brossé, Freddy Arteel, Fabrice Bollon and Francois Glorieux…

Nowadays, Bart Picqueur is principal conductor of the“Koninklijke Harmonie Ste. Cecilia Zele”. A band performing in the highest division of the flemish amateur world.

The last few years he has devellopped a career both as conductor and composer in the international music scene. He conducted various professional and amateur bands in France, Spain and Germany. Last season, he led the Royal band of the Belgian Guides, The band of the Slovenian Armed forces and the Banda Primitiva de Lliria. His works have been recorded by leading orchestras such as “the Royal Band of the Belgian Guides”, “Osaka Municipal band”, “Rundfunk Blasorchester Leipzig”, “The Dutch Royal Military band” , Dunshan Wind orchestra etc.

As musical supervisor he recorded cd’s with the “Royal Band of the Belgian Guides”, the “Musikkapelle der Deutsche Bundeswehr” and the “RBO Leipzig”.

Beside his work as composer and conductor, Picqueur trains young conductors in his class in Ghent and at several master classes.
